Mike's Measurement Growing Post

Question 1: What is the Pythagorean Theorem? You should use words, pictures, symbols and numerical examples.
The theory of Pythagorean is the calculation of how to figure out a objects side. The theory is that the square of the lengths of the sides of a right triangle are equal to the square of the length of the hypotenuse.
The formuala is: a²+b²=c²

Question 2: How do you find the surface area of a right rectangular prism? You should use words, pictures, symbols and numerical examples.
Another word for rectangualar prism is Polyhedron, which is a 3D shape.
This 3D shape has 6 face sides with each face parallel and equal in measurement to the one acrros from it.
The formual is: SA= 2(L x W)+2(L x H)+2(H x W)

<----------Two examples of rectangular prisms----------->

L=Length
W=Width
H=Height
SA=Surface Area

<----Net of a rectangular prism

The rectangular prism folded---->

SA=2(L x H)+2(L x W) +2(W x H)
SA=2(7 x 5)+2(7 x 2)+2(2 x 5)
SA=2(35)+2(14)+2(10)
SA=70+28+20
SA=118cm²
Surface area of this rectangular prism is 118cm².

Question 3: How do you findthe surface area of a right cylinder? You should use words, pictures, symbols and numerical examples.
A cylinder is a solid rounded object wiht two circles, one on top & one on bottow, with a curved rectangle in the middle to close the figure.
Net of a cylinder
Question 4: What is a polygon and how do we classify one?
A polygon is a closed figure having 3 or more sides, usually straight. A regular polygon has all sides equal to the other, an irregular polygon has different lengths and angles consisting in the figure.
