Question 1: What is the Pythagorean Theorem?
The Pythagorean Theorem is a formula. The formula is used to calculate the length of a side of a right triangle (hypotenuse or either of the legs). The formula is a2 + b2 = c2.

Question 2: How do you find the surface area of a right rectangular prism?

Definition of a Right Rectangular Prism

A right rectangular prism is a 3D shape that all angles are at 90°. The rectangular prism has 6 sides called faces and 8 pairs of parallel lines.

The way to find the surface area of a rectangular prism is by using the formula below

SA= 2(lw) + 2(hw) + 2( lh)
SA= 2(3x11) + 2(3x3) + 2(11x3)
SA= 2(33) + 2(9) + 2(33)
SA= 66 + 18 + 66
SA= 150 cm2

l= length
w=width
h=height

Question 3: How do you find the surface area of a right cylinder?
A right cylinder is a rounded rectangular prism with two circles on each base. Some everyday right cylinders are: pop cans, paper towel rolls, air tank for scuba diving, trees, totem poles, unsharpened pencils, etc.

SA= 2(3.14)(r2) + 2(3.14)(h)(r)
SA= (6.28)(52) + (6.28(10)(5)
SA= 157 + 314
SA= 471cm2

Question 4: What is a polygon and how do we classify one?

Definition of a Polygon

A polygon is a closed figure made by joining line segments, where each line segment intersects exactly two others. A regular polygon is a polygon whose sides are all the same length, and whose angles are all the same.

Quadrilaterals are polygons with four sides. They include rectangles, squares, trapezoids, parallelograms, rhombuses. A square is a quadrilateral with four equal sides and four equal right angles. Triangles are polygons with three sides. There are several types of triangles.
