Question 1: What is the Pythagorean Theorem? You should use words, pictures, symbols and numerical examples.
The Pythagorean Theorem is a formula discovered by Pythagoras to find out what the length of the third side of a right triangle is when the two other sides of the right triangle are given.
The formula is a²+b²=c².

If the right triangle is missing a leg (hypotenuse), this is how you solve it using the formula above:
1) 35²+12²=c²
1225+144=c²
1369=c²
37in squared=c

Here is an example of a right trianle that is missing one of it's legs(a or b):
2) 72²+b²=97²
5184+b²=9409
b²=9409-5184
b²=4225
b=65cm squared

Question 2: How do you find the surface area of a right rectangular prism? You should use words, pictures, symbols and numerical examples.
A right rectangular prism is a 3D rectangle that all of the sides have a right angle.
You can find the surface area of a right rectanglar prism by using the formula:

SA=2(lenght x width)+2(length x height)+2(width x height)

This is a rectangular prism (Top)
This is the net of a rectangular prism (Bottom)

To find the surface area of a rectangular prism just plug in the numbers in the formula. For example:
lenght=23m width=13m height=12m
Now, plug in the numbers in the formula below:

SA=2(lw)+2(lh)+2(wh)
SA=2(23*13)+2(23*12)+2(13*12)
SA=2(299)+2(276)+2(156)
SA=598+552+312
SA=1462m squared

Here is a picture of a rectangular prism, let's solve for its surface area with the formula SA=2(lw)+2(lh)+2(wh):
SA=2(10*4)+2(10*5)+2(4*5)
SA=2(40)+2(50)+2(20)
SA=80+100+40
SA=220cm squared

Here is an example of a rectagular prism that we use in our everyday lives:

Question 3: How do you find the surface area of a right cylinder? You should use words, pictures, symbols and numerical examples.
A right cylinder is alot like a right rectangular prism, if you cut it open, it has right angles, and is shaped like a rectangle with two circles on it.
Here is a cylinder cut open flat (Bottom)

Here is a picture of a cylinder not cut open

To find the Surface Area of a cylinder, use the formula SA=2*pi*r squared+2*pi*r*h
pi=3.14 r=radius r squared=radius*radius h=height

For example, say if the height was 15cm, the radius was 7cm, and the diameter was 14cm, how would you solve for the surface area?

SA=2(3.14)(7)squared+2(3.14)(7)(15)
SA=6.28(49)+6.28(105)
SA=307.72+659.4
SA=967.12cm squared

Here is an example of a cylinder, a can of coke (bottom)

Here is another thing shaped like a cylinder, a tube of glue (gule stick) (top)
Question 4: What is a polygon and how do we classify one?
A polygon is any shape as long as it is a closed figure. If a shape is not closed, then it is not considered a polygon.
A regular polygon is a simple easy polygon that does not intersect itself anywhere. And it can be a equiangular which means that all the angles are equal.
Another thing that a regular polygon can be is an equilateral which means that all the sides are the same length.
Here are different types of polygons:
