Mean, Median and Mode
The three ways of finding the average of a group of numbers.
MEAN- the average number
To find mean in a group of numbers you take the numbers and add them all together ex. 10 13 14 17.
STEP 1 STEP 2
10
13
14 10 divided by 4 = 13.5
+17=
54
You then take the Sum and divide it by the amount of numbers you used to get the sum. Ex 54 divided by 4 = 13.5
and that is your average 13.5
MEDIAN- the middle number when you allin sp.x a group of numbers.
Take several numbers ex. 2 4 1 3 6 and you arrange them from smallest to largest
STEP 1
1 2 3 4 6
and then find the middle number in the row and thats your median
EX 2 if you don't have a odd number of numbers ex 1 2 3 4 5 6 you allign them in order like before and take the 2 middle numbers and add them together and divide the sum by 2
1 2 3 4 5 6 in this case 3 and 4 = 7 divided by 2 = 3.5 and that is your median
MODE- the most amount of numbers
in a group of numbers you find the most common number
ex 2 4 5 4 3 1 so the mode in this would be 4 because there are 2 4s and that is how you find the mode
or
if there are two numbers that are more common like 22 33 4 5 the mode would be BOTH 2 and 3.
so ya this is my first blog and I hope you like it ps please comment on it yay
